All-new Previa launched
Abdullah Abdulghani and Brothers (AAB) yesterday launched an all-new Toyota Previa.
Addressing a pre-launch press conference, AAB general manager Dr Mohamed A al-Dorani recalled that when the first generation Previa was launched in 1990, it made an impact with its advanced form and individualistic design which were previously unseen in minivans.
In 2000, the second generation Previa was launched and continued to maintain the top position in this segment and competing brands started keeping Previa as a benchmark for their models, he said.
The third generation all New Previa comes with a new 2.4-litre engine and is sportier than the old model. The car has more individual style, and interior space that provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, overwhelming engine and driving performance. “It is a vehicle designed for people who desire something genuine that expresses their individuality and values”.
The interiors of the new Previa are like an open living room with a glass roof covering two-thirds of the roof and a brightly coordinated interior colour design, he said.
The audio system features a radio, cassette, CD player with six speakers. The second and third row seats could be folded and adjusted to accommodate more luggage if required.
The vehicle is equipped with front and back sensors which detect obstacles close to the car and inform the driver using the display and a buzz. The new Previa comes with a steering assisted vehicle stability control (S-VSC) which will ensure stability when accelerating or driving on slippery or rutted roads and navigating tight corners.
It also features top-level passenger safety performance meeting the tough safety standards in various countries, the general manager said.
Previa is available in two models - 7-seater and 8-seater.
The press conference was also attended by marketing manager Sushil Sindhkar and sales manager Hisham Mohamed Ismail.
