2007 Ford Econoline
Ford’s Econoline (E-Series) full-size van has consistently been a big seller for the company, despite redesigns that have been few and far between. Ford moved 179,543 Econolines last year, which was its best year since 2000. The Econoline is easily the most popular van in North America. In comparison, Chevy only sold 127,585 vans in 2005 while Dodge sold a paltry 19,578 Sprinter vans.
The full-size van market goes ignored because of a lack of competition. The current Econoline’s exterior design has been virtually un-changed since it was introduced in 1992. But that will soon change as Ford implements a new grille design. This Econoline was spotted with acamouflage mask covering a revised front end. But if you look close you can see a version of Ford’s corporate three-bar grille and headlights inspired by Ford’s upcoming F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The new Econoline should appear in 2007 and should be available with the new 6.4L Powerstroke diesel engine.
