Add 144 rwhp to 2007 Shelby GT-500 with Steeda!
Steeda has been consistently adding new products for the 2007 Ford Shelby GT-500 Mustang that really take the car to a higher plane of performance. More horsepower, tighter handling and better braking - that is the recipe.
Enter the new “Generation 2” Cold Air Kit, which builds on the stainless steel and billet setup they introduced not long ago and adds a new Steeda exclusive inlet elbow. The new high flow connecting duct gives an additional dyno proven 12 rwhp alone. In total, that brings a whopping 97 hp gain with the complete set up. Imagine nearly 100hp from a cold air kit and SCT tune alone. By adding Steeda’s GT-500 supercharger pulley upgrade you push the gains to a whopping 144 rwhp!
Steeda’s cold air kit comes with a slick looking stainless steel air box that has a built-in billet “super velocity stack. The velocity stack sits inside the filter and helps to increase air flow by smoothing out incoming air. The filter assembly mounts in the factory location and Steeda’s new elbow fits well with the strut tower brace.
Steeda says that their kit offers the largest mass air meter on the market at over 114 mm. As far as the effect on air temperature, they claim that inlet temps are only 5 degrees above ambient temperature. The Steeda Lifetime Filter can easily be cleaned and re-oiled, making maintenance a snap. All stainless steel hardware required for installation is included in the kit.
Buyers should note that the new Steeda cold air kit with elbow does require a computer re-flash which they also offer. As Steeda says, “It isn’t just an option, it’s required!” But when you use the Steeda provided re-flash you can be confident that Steeda has done all the testing and tuning for you, drivability is as good as stock except when you hammer the throttle!!
The new Steeda Generation 2 Cold Air Kit has a suggested retail price of $389.95 with the new elbow and $299.95 without. Installation takes about an hour and can be done with the most rudimentary of hand tools, meaning no drilling or cutting is required.
